BERITA BARU ■ It has entered the fourth day, the KRI Nanggala-402 submarine has not been found after losing contact on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, in the early hours of the torpedo firing exercise.

The search team for KRI Nanggala continues to race against time, considering that the oxygen limit as stated by the Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL) Admiral Yudo Margono is only 72 hours or a matter of three days.

A number of aid search teams from neighboring countries were also involved. For example, Singapore has deployed quite sophisticated MV Swift Rescue.

MV Swift Rescue was informed that it will dock at Pandan Wangi Banyuwangi, East Java.

"(MV Swift Rescue) arrived at 23.00 WITA today," said the Head of the Indonesian Navy Information Service (Kadispenal), Laksma TNI Julius Widjojono, on Saturday (24/4).

MV Swift Rescue is said to have the technology to detect the location of KRI Nanggala which is suspected of sinking in the sea with a depth of 600-700 meters. This is because the MV Swift is equipped with the Submarine Escape and Rescue (SMER) capability.

The ship can carry a crew of 27 to carry out submarine rescue and evacuation operations. The rescue systems owned by the MV Swift Rescue include the Submarine Rescue Vehicle (SRV) and the Submarine Support and Rescue Vessel (SSRV). The SRV is integrated with the SSRV and will be transported to the submarine site.

The rescue ship MV Swift Rescue is claimed to be able to operate continuously for four weeks. These advantages make the MV Swift Rescue the right ship for complex and long-term operations. (R-01)
